MV Ocean Centurion-Master & Crew in Custody after Pirate Attack

Posted by maritimesummit@yahoo.com on September 3, 2013 at 5:20 PM

Marshall Islands-flagged MT Ocean Centurion was attacked and looted by the the pirates on 16th July 2013, 45 nautical miles southeast of Togo’s coastal capital Lome.

Master (Capt Sunil James) and 2 crew members were relieved around 30/31st July for Investigation purpose and since then they are in custody of Togo Authorities. The official reason for thier detention by authorities are not known as such but has been indicated by some media sources that Master and 2 Crew members (Chief Offiecr & 3/E) custody is for suspecting thier involvement in the piracy and robbery case, quite strange.
